River levels remain high in response to recent rainfall. Flooding is possible today, 23rd February 2026 . Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from the Welsh border at Llawnt to Shrawardine near Shrewsbury. Other locations that may be affected include Llanymynech, Maesbrook and Melverley. Roads between Maesbrook, Melverley and Pentre start to flood. Observed peak:- Llanymynech 3.96m Sunday 22 February 2026. Predicted peak:- Cae Howel 4.1m to 4.5m overnight into Wednesday 25th February 2026. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 24th February 2026 or as the situation changes.
