Severity Last Changed: Rising river levels today may lead to continued flooding. Flooding is possible on 12 January 2026. Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from the Welsh border at Llawnt to Shrawardine near Shrewsbury. Other locations that may be affected include Llanymynech, Maesbrook and Melverley. Roads between Maesbrook, Melverley and Pentre start to flood. Predicted peaks:- Llanymynech 4.2m to 4.3m on 12/01 AM, Maesbrook 0.9m to 1.4m on 12/01 PM, Cae Howel 3.3m to 3.8m on 12/01 PM. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 9:00AM on 13 January 2026 or as the situation changes. |
