Forecast rising river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from the early hours of 10 January 2026 .
Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from the Welsh border at Llawnt to Shrawardine near Shrewsbury. Other locations that may be affected include Llanymynech, Maesbrook and Melverley. Roads between Maesbrook, Melverley and Pentre start to flood. Predicted peaks:- Llanymynech peaked at 2.47m on 09/01 PM, Maesbrook 0.7m to 1.2m on 10/01 AM, Cae Howel 3.0m to 3.5m on 10/01 AM.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .
