Property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels are continuing to rise slowly on the lower River Cherwell between Lower Heyford and Oxford as a result of recent rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue, particularly in areas closest to the river around Thrupp, Kidlington and Shipton-on-Cherwell.

The forecast is for a dry day today (29/01/2025). We expect river levels to continue slowly rising through the day.

We are monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. Do not drive through flood water.

This message will be updated by tomorrow morning, 30/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
