Flood Warning: River Thames for the Abingdon area

River levels are rising slowly on the River Thames following recent heavy rainfall. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected to continue today (29/01/25), particularly in the Abingdon and Culham areas.



The forecast is for a dry day today (29/01/2025). We expect river levels to continue to rise steadily over the coming 24 hours as water makes its way downstream. Levels remain sensitive to further rainfall.



We are monitoring the situation and operating weirs on the Thames to manage flood risk. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels.
