Flood Warning: River Thames from Pangbourne to Purley

Property flooding is not currently expected.



River levels are rising slowly on the River Thames. Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected today, particularly in areas around Whitchurch, Pangbourne, Mapledurham and Purley.



The forecast is for a dry day today (29/01/2025). We expect river levels to continue to rise steadily over the coming 24 hours as water makes its way downstream. Levels remain sensitive to further rainfall.



We are monitoring the situation and operating weirs on the Thames to manage flood risk. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels.
