Groundwater levels in the Bourne Valley are high, but slowly falling. We expect a small number of properties in Upton and Hurstbourne Tarrant will be experiencing cellar flooding. In Upton, water continues to affect the main road. Impacts to the sewerage network and septic tanks are ongoing throughout the valley. From today (24/04/2024) to Friday (26/04/2024), light rain is forecast in Hampshire. On Saturday (27/04/2024), there is potentially heavy frontal rain forecast, bringing between 10 and 45mm. Further rain (up to 15mm) is expected on Sunday (28/04/2024). Groundwater levels are expected to continue slowly falling initially. However, if heavy rainfall affects the Bourne Valley, then within the next week, levels may begin to stabilise and could even begin to rise again. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Wednesday 01/05/2024.
