Flood Warning: Groundwater flooding in villages surrounding Andover

Groundwater levels, in the villages surrounding Andover, are high but slowly falling. At Clanville, the level has fallen by 21cm in the last week. Cellar flooding impacts may be ongoing in Appleshaw, Hatherden and Penton Grafton. Groundwater is likely to be affecting Deacon and Down Road, Kimpton as well as the main road into Penton Grafton. Impacts to the sewerage system in Penton Mewsey and Appleshaw are ongoing. From today (24/03/2025) to Friday (28/03/2025), the weather is expected to be mostly dry. Groundwater levels will continue to slowly fall, and flooding impacts will decrease. If the weather forecast is favourable next week, this Flood Alert will be removed. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to reduce water levels, please ensure that they can operate. We will update this Flood Alert by 18:00 on Monday 31/03/2025.
