Groundwater levels in Kings Somborne and Little Somborne are high, but falling slowly. At our borehole in Kings Somborne, the level has fallen by 16cm in the last week. Groundwater is expected to be affecting a small number of cellars along Winchester Road, central Kings Somborne, and in Little Somborne. Rain is forecast to affect Hampshire from today (25/04/2024) to Monday 29/04/2024, with some heavy spells possible over the weekend. It is possible that between 20 and 50mm of rain could be recorded during this time. Groundwater levels are expected to continue slowly falling initially. However, if heavy rainfall affects the area, then levels could begin to stabilise within the next week and could even slightly rise again. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operational. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Thursday 02/05/2024.
