Flood Warning: Groundwater flooding in Bramdean and Cheriton
Message Last Updated:
Severity Last Changed: Groundwater levels in Bramdean and Cheriton are high and are just beginning to stabilise. At our borehole in West Meon, the level has risen by 29cm in the last week. The level is now very close to where we would expect a small number of properties in Cheriton to be affected by cellar flooding. In Bramdean, we do not currently expect cellar flooding impacts to occur. From today (13/03/2025) to Monday (17/03/2025), only small amounts of rain are forecast. We expect groundwater levels to initially remain relatively stable before beginning to fall slowly from the weekend. We continue to monitor the forecast. In Cheriton, if you use pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they can operate. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Thursday 20/03/2025. |
