Groundwater levels in Finchdean, Dean Lane End and Rowlands Castle are high, but slowly falling. In Finchdean, the level has fallen by 12cm in the last week. We expect a small number of properties in the valley will be experiencing cellar flooding. Road flooding and sewerage systems impacts are ongoing. During heavier rainfall events, surface water may flood property. From today (24/04/2024) to Friday (26/04/2024), light rain is forecast in Hampshire. On Saturday (27/04/2024), there is potentially heavy frontal rain forecast, bringing between 10 and 45mm. Further rain (up to 15mm) is expected on Sunday (28/04/2024). Groundwater levels are expected to continue slowly falling initially. However, if heavy rain affects the area, then levels will stabilise within the next week and could begin slowly rising once more. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Wednesday 01/05/2024.
