Flood Warning: Western Rother

The Western Rother is still high between Selham and Fittleworth, following Sunday and Monday's rain. Minor flooding will continue to affect fields, rural roads, and gardens at Lodsbridge, near Selham and Fittleworth Mill in Fittleworth. River levels in Liss, Iping, and Midhurst have already fallen significantly. Another period of rain is forecast Wednesday afternoon and evening (29/01/2025). There remains uncertainty in the rainfall amounts and locations, ranging from 5-20mm. For this reason, the Flood Alert will remain in place. The most likely scenario is for a small river rise in all communities. Minor flood impacts could be possible in Liss (from 19:00 29/01/2025), Iping and Midhurst, and water could again approach properties at Lodsbridge near Selham (from 05:00 30/01/2025) and Fittleworth. From Thursday afternoon, only isolated showers are forecast and flood risk should slowly reduce. Please continue to take actions to reduce potential impacts at Lodsbridge and Fittleworth.
