River levels are near normal in Hellingly and Alfriston. Another period of rain is forecast Wednesday afternoon and evening. There remains uncertainty in the rainfall amounts and locations. The most likely scenario is that from 19:00 29/01/2025 minor flooding could affect fields and gardens on Mill Lane, Hellingly, and Grove Hill near Grovebridge Farm. From 23:00 29/01/2025 flood impacts could also affect Station Road, Church Lane and Church Road, Hellingly, and gardens here. From 05:00 30/01/2025 flooding could also affect North Street, Willows Car Park, and fields near Alfriston. We expect river levels to peak at a lower level than Monday. Only isolated showers are expected from Thursday and through the weekend. The river should begin to fall by 11:00 30/01/2025 in Hellingly and 21:00 30/01/2025 in Alfriston, and should return to normal by the weekend. Plan to avoid driving on routes susceptible to flooding, including Mill Lane and Church Road, Hellingly, and North Street, Alfriston. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast.
