Flood Warning: Groundwater flooding in the Salisbury Plain area

Groundwater levels have slowly started to recede after the recent dry weather. Levels are reactive to further rainfall.

The forecast is for heavy rainfall overnight Wednesday into Thursday which may cause groundwater to rise again.

Flooding of roads and fields is possible. Where groundwater is near the surface, intense rainfall will lead to surface water flooding.

Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.
