Higher than normal tides tomorrow morning may lead to flooding. Highest tide level is expected to be at Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon at 9:45 AM on 30/01/2025 and 10:29 on 31/01/2025 Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of this time. Areas most at risk include Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon.

We do not expect to see similar impacts from the high tides during the evenings. We have closed flood gates and are monitoring rainfall and river levels.

Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths

The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Christchurch Harbour. The first forecast high water is at 9:44 AM on 30/01/2025 with a level of 1.23 mAODN with west-northwesterly force 4 winds. The second forecast high water is at 10:29 AM on 31/01/2025 with a level of 1.37 mAODN with southerly force 5 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.)
