The River Tone level at Currymoor pumping station is 7.44 m and is falling slowly. Water will enter Currymoor reservoir via Hookbridge spillway if this level exceeds 7.45m.
The drain level at Currymoor pumping station is 6.28 m and is rising slowly. Cutts Road floods when this level is above 5.75m, and New Road when the level is above 6.18m. We are aware both these roads are currently closed. There is a risk of water overtopping Haymoor flood storage area and affecting Curload and Stan Moor if this level reaches 8.30m. For the latest river and drain levels refer to https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels .
Pumping is taking place at Saltmoor and Northmoor pumping stations. Pumping will commence at Currymoor when river levels allow.
Light rain is forecast for this afternoon, 29/01/25. The situation is being continually monitored and staff are checking the condition of flood banks, spillways and weed screens. Refer to @TravelSomerset for information on local road closures. This message will be updated by midday 30/01/25, or as the situation changes.
